Nothing beats boredom at work like some custom file folders, but they can be pricey and may not be the pattern you’re looking for. So make your own! You’ll need:
- 12 X 12 scrapbook paper (I used coordinating patterns)
- Manila file folders
- Spray adhesive or glue stick
- Scissors or Exacto knife
- Packing Tape
Just spray the back of the scrapbook paper with the adhesive or roll on the glue stick. Make sure to cover the whole sheet. Then carefully place the front of the folder onto the adhesive. Take scissors or an Exacto knife and cut off the excess. Easy-peasy!
But sometimes you only need a folder for a short project and then you’re done with it. I’d hate to see that happen to your custom folders, so I’m going to let you in on a secret! You can make them reusable with packing tape and a wet erase marker! I first affixed a label to the folder tab and then covered it with packing tape, but you could just put the tape over the tab. The key is to use a wet erase marker like an Expo Vis-a-Vis that school teachers used with overhead projectors back in the day. When you’re ready to start a new project, just dampen a paper towel and wipe the old name away.
Let me know if you give it a try. Meanwhile, if you liked this post, pin it!
